The management of the biggest mall in federal capital Territory, theJabi Lake Mall situated in the Utako area of Abuja has shut down its operations over fear of terrorist’s attack in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The management of the mall announced this on Thursday on its official Instagram page @jabilakemallnigeria.
It said the decision was taken in the overall interest of the safety of all staff and customers of the mall.
They however, said they were reviewing the security situation with relevant authorities and that the mall would be reopened as soon as possible.
The post read “To all our valued shoppers, Jabi Lake Mall will be closed today, Thursday, October 27, 2022. This decision has been taken in the overall interest of the safety of all staff and customers of the mall.
“Centre Management is committed to minimising any disruptions; however, the safety of our staff and shoppers remains our highest priority. Management is constantly reviewing the security situation in consultation with relevant security authorities and will inform you when the mall will be re-opened.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope to provide you with a quality shopping experience soon. Thank you.”
Sleeknews noted that fear over terror attack in Abuja had heightened after the United States of America’s advisory warned of imminent terrorists attacks in the city.
On Wednesday security operatives with some foreigners operatives raided an apartment in Trademoore Estate Lugbe and carted away arms and guns from an apartment said to have been rented by suspended terrorists.
On Thursday United States began to evacuate non essential staff of it’s Embassy in Abuja.
