A viral video has surfaced showing a Nigerian pastor urging his church members to seek “spiritual fortification” to protect themselves against armed attacks. The pastor insisted that all members must undergo the ritual or risk being expelled from the church, claiming it would make attackers “shoot each other” instead of harming them.
He referenced deadly church attacks in Owo and Kaduna, saying many victims called on the name of Jesus but were still killed. According to him, spiritual protection is necessary because “Jesus said, ‘We will meet in heaven.’” His comments have sparked widespread debate over religious teachings, security realities, and the rise of fear-driven doctrines amid escalating violence.
