The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates contesting the 2026 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Election.
According to INEC, 17 political parties submitted candidate details before the deadline.
The list, which includes information on party affiliation, age, gender, and qualifications, is now available on the Commission’s website and social media platforms.
The election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 21st February 2026.
INEC emphasized that no candidate withdrawals or replacements will be permitted except in the event of death before Election Day, in line with Section 34(1) of the Electoral Act.
