People United by Sports (PUBS), a non-governmental organisation, has donated training kits to the management of Sunshine Queens FC of Akure.
The President of PUBS, Seun Betiku, while presenting the items to the management of the team on Thursday in Akure, said it was part of the organisation`s effort to support football development in the state.
Betiku said the group would extend same gesture to the male team, Sunshine Stars FC, as soon as possible and before the new season.
He said the group, which had its members drawn from ex-footballers to top football administrators, would always support development of sports at all levels.
The Director-General, Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Akin Akinbobola, thanked the organisation for supporting government to develop the youth in the state.
Akinbobola, who received the kits on behalf of the President of the team, called on other well-meaning groups and organisations to do same to engage the youth.
“Assist us in engaging these youth. It is better for the girls to be engaged in using God-given talents to make money and get enriched than go into prostitution and drug abuse,” he said.
Akinbobola noted that sports would always get youths off social vices that could hamper the progress of the state and the country at large.
Also Speaking, Head Coach of Sunshine Queens FC, Tayo Onilude, said the donation would encourage other well-meaning organisations to support the team.
