Granit Xhaka Completes Return to Premier League with Sunderland

Granit Xhaka has joined Sunderland from Bayer Leverkusen on a three-year deal. The move is worth about £17.3 million, including add-ons. It marks his return to the Premier League after two seasons in Germany.

Xhaka played over 220 games for Arsenal before joining Leverkusen. He helped the German side win a historic league and cup double last season. Sunderland see him as a key leader for their top-flight return.

He’ll wear the No. 34 shirt and is likely to debut against West Ham on August 16. The club says his arrival shows their ambition to compete strongly in the Premier League.
