In a move to improve transportation options for commuters traveling between Jos and Abuja, the Plateau State government has launched 20 Sienna buses and 2 coaster buses for the Jos-Abuja route, along with the introduction of a Mobile Booking App to streamline the booking process for passengers.
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, represented by Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo, highlighted the significance of this initiative in improving connectivity between two cities.
He stated, “The introduction of modern buses equipped with cutting-edge tracking systems ensures passenger safety and provides real-time monitoring of their locations, promising reliable and comfortable transportation options for commuters. This development is poised to boost mobility and spur economic activities in both cities, fostering growth and prosperity.”
The governor also stressed the government’s commitment to embracing digital transformation, underscoring the significance of the Mobile Booking App in revolutionizing the booking process and enhancing customer experience
“The Rebirth Project reflects our government’s recognition of the importance of modernizing and improving transportation infrastructure in Plateau State. It symbolizes a commitment to driving progress, economic growth, job creation, and an enhanced quality of life for the people of Plateau State.” He noted
In his remarks,Commissioner for Transport, Hon Davou Gyang Jatau, Commissioner for Transport Davou Gyang Jatau commended the governor’s leadership in modernizing the transport sector and addressing the evolving needs of Plateau State residents. He highlighted the government’s commitment to delivering efficient logistics solutions and improving the lives of residents.
Furthermore, Plateau Riders General Manager, Samuel Gwott, highlighted the new buses and upgraded services, offering passengers two options “We have the Gida Gida Express Coaster Bus that goes for just N5,000. This 25-seater bus will leave both Abuja and Jos every 12 noon every day.
“The second option is the air conditioned Toyota Sienna that operates between 6am and 4 pm for N9000.We have well-trained drivers, our vehicles have security features and speed limiters, improved customer experience, and a mobile App.”
Gwott also mentioned the company’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer experience, as well as their plan to open up revenue channels through various subsidiaries.
He noted that the company aims to provide reliable and comfortable transportation options for commuters, emphasizing the use of the mobile app for real-time feedback and booking.
