The Governor of Kwara state, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq has restated his commitment to improve infrastructural deficit in the education sector in the state.
Speaking at an education summit organised by the state government on Thursday, the governor said his government would continue to invest in the future of young Kwarans.
With the theme; Securing and Investing in the Next Generation, the summit amongst others aims at understanding the current state of education in the state and take a critical look at the current infrastructure and resources available.
The summit also centered on how to leverage innovations and new technology to improve and transform education systems and learning in Kwara state.
Speaking at the ceremony, Commissioner of Tertiary Education in the state, Barr. Senior Suleiman urged participants to use the opportunity given to them to contribute their own qouta to the development of education in the state.
He also assured teachers in the state of their welfare,saying that the the government would always ensure industrial harmony in the state.
Also speaking on the state of infrastructure in public schools in Kwara state, Senior Education Specialist, World Bank, Dr. Tunde Adekola commended Governor Abdulrasaq for upgrading public schools

Dr. Adekola also commended the governor for the state’s mass literacy programme and urged him to continue to invest in the lives women and young people in the state.
