Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has expressed deep sorrow following the violent attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Kwara State by suspected bandits. Sharing her emotions on social media, the actress revealed she broke down in tears after waking up to a livestream showing worshippers being assaulted during a church service. She said the most heart-wrenching moment was seeing an elderly woman struggling to flee for safety.
The disturbing incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, November 18, when a video capturing the chaos inside the church surfaced online. In the footage, congregants were seen running in panic as gunmen launched an attack mid-service. The viral clip has since triggered widespread outrage and calls for stronger security in religious spaces.
Confirming the incident, the Kwara State Police Command reported that at least two individuals were killed, while one person sustained injuries during the attack in Eruku, a border community in the Ekiti Local Government Area of the state. Authorities say investigations are ongoing as security operatives work to track down the perpetrators and prevent further violence.
