Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has extended a heartfelt message to workers across the state in commemoration of Workers’ Day 2025. Despite his suspension following the declaration of a state of emergency by President Bola Tinubu in March, Fubara praised the dedication and resilience of Rivers workers, referring to them as the backbone of the state’s development and a beacon of hope for a better future.
In his message, Fubara emphasized the importance of protecting workers’ rights and ensuring their safety and health, especially in the face of escalating environmental threats and socio-political uncertainties. He acknowledged the efforts of the Federal Government under President Tinubu in advancing labour reforms and promoting climate-conscious policies that support a healthier, safer working environment nationwide.
Fubara also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upholding labour laws and improving working conditions, urging all employers to respect the rights and dignity of every worker. He expressed hope that the forces of justice, peace, and progress will prevail in the end, encouraging the people of Rivers State to remain hopeful and united during these challenging times.
