Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has been conferred with the revered traditional title of Sarauniyar Yaki (Queen Warrior) of Akko Emirate, Gombe State.
The Lamido Akko, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Atiku, bestowed the honor in recognition of her unwavering passion for defending the vulnerable across the nation during her two-day working visit.
In her remarks, the First Lady pledged continued advocacy for the girl child and called on traditional rulers to strengthen their support for her initiatives.
The ceremony was attended by Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya and the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo. Mrs. Tinubu is also expected to launch the Renewed Hope Initiative Flow With Confidence project, a crucial menstrual health program for schoolgirls, during her stay.
