The Federal Government has unveiled plans to broaden its direct cash transfer programme to reach beyond the current 15 million households, as part of efforts to cushion the effects of economic hardship on poor and vulnerable Nigerians.
Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, made this known on Monday.
According to Edun, the expansion will ensure that more Nigerians benefit from government support amid ongoing economic reforms.
He emphasized that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, aimed at promoting inclusive growth and social protection across the country.
