Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has ordered a thorough investigation into the clash between Air Peace and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, following an altercation at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 (Zulu Hall) on Wednesday morning.
The directive was announced via a statement shared on Keyamo’s official X account on Friday.
Air Peace accused Oshiomhole of causing a disturbance and being violent after allegedly being prevented from boarding a flight.
Oshiomhole denied the claim and instead accused Air Peace of extortion and refusing boarding to him and other passengers despite online check-in.
Keyamo confirmed that he has been in direct contact with both parties since the incident.
“Whilst appealing to both sides to halt the public accusations and counter-accusations, I am further directing the relevant aviation agencies to thoroughly look into the issue, collect all available evidence, and revert to my office…” he stated.
He emphasized that the goal is to guide future conduct in similar situations and prevent escalation.
Keyamo also urged restraint in public utterances as investigations proceed.
