Federal government in Abuja on Friday ordered all civil servants out of the federal secretariat by 2pm as operatives of security agencies combed the vicinity in preparation for Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration on Saturday, January 15, 2022.
All civil servants complied including the staff of Federal High Court Abuja located half a kilometer away from the main secretariat and left their offices and went home.
One of the security operatives at Eagle Square venue for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day annual celebrations told our reporter the order would allow the security operatives search the vicinity and make it safe for President Muhammadu Buhari to attend the event as the reviewing officer.
He said it is not their concern if the order lead to lose of man hours. “Our duty is to secure the area and ensure that nobody is left behind in the buildings, he added, as he waved us to leave.
