Federal High Court proceeds on 2026 annual vacation July 27, resurnes September 11

…Designates some courts in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu Judicial Divisions for vacation cases

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, has officially approved and announced the Court’s Annual Vacation for the year 2026.

Federal High Court of Nigeria, stated that the Court “Annual Vacation is scheduled to commence on Monday, 27th July 2026, and end on Friday, 11th September 2026.”

It read in part: “Pursuant to Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, KSS, OFR, FCIArb. (UK), has officially approved and announced the Court’s Annual Vacation for the year 2026, together with the roster of Judges designated to sit during the vacation period.”

“During the vacation period, the Court will continue to provide judicial services in urgent matters through designated Vacation Courts. Accordingly, the Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Enugu Judicial Divisions will remain operational to entertain cases requiring immediate judicial attention.

“Members of the public and legal practitioners are advised to file and prosecute urgent matters only at the designated Vacation Courts closest to them.

The designated Vacation Judges are as follows:

Abuja Division: (a) Hon. Justice J. O. Abdulmalik
(b) Hon. Justice O. A. Egwuatu

Lagos Division:(a) Hon. Justice Akintayo Aluko (b) Hon. Justice Ogazi F. Nkemakonam

Port Harcourt Division: (a) Hon. Justice P. M. Ayua (b) Hon. Justice A. T. Mohammed

Enugu Division:(a) Hon. Justice F. O. G. Ogunbanjo
(b) Hon. Justice M. T. Segun-Bello
