The Association of Resident Doctors in the Federal Capital Territory (ARD-FCT) has suspended its indefinite strike and confirmed that members will return to duty on Monday, September 22 at 8 a.m., following intervention by the Senate Committee on FCT Affairs led by Senator David Jimkuta.
Though none of their demands have yet been met ranging from salary arrears, residency training release, infrastructure upgrades, to hazard allowances, the doctors have trusted Senate assurances of swift engagement with the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
A review meeting is scheduled soon to evaluate progress; further action may follow if commitments are not fulfilled.
