The family members of the first civilian governor of Benue State, late Aper Aku are in tears seeking for support from spirited individuals and cooperate organisations to cushion the effect of their suffering.
The need to seek for support followed the razing down of their family house last Monday by youths in the neighborhood over no justifiable reasons.
It was alleged that trouble started between the family of the former governor and their neighbors over alleged destruction of maize farm and killing of goats.
Their neighbors alleged that the Aku’ s family members killed their goats which it was further alleged that were destroying Aku’s family maize farm, a development that triggered attacks on Aku’s family which allegedly ended in the razing down of their family house by the youths in the area.
A daughter of Aper Aku family, Deborah Aku, in her narration informed that the family lost everything to the fire set to their home, including credentials.
The daughter noted that “My family and I were almost burnt with the house, it was the Police that rescued us but we lost all our properties.”
The youths according to Deborah Aku, claimed we killed their goats and that was the reason for their action insisting that she had never witnessed that sheer wickedness in her life as all their properties and credentials were lost.
She lamented,”I plead that people should help us to get justice and compensation for this cruel act. We have been rendered homeless.”
