Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has announced that its $23 million Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) production plant will help Nigeria reduce dependence on drug imports and move closer to self-sufficiency in local drug manufacturing by 2026.
The company explained that the facility, which is among the first of its kind in West Africa, will produce essential APIs used in common medicines, thereby strengthening the pharmaceutical value chain and reducing foreign exchange pressures from importation.
Emzor said the investment underscores its commitment to healthcare security, job creation, and sustainable industrial growth in Nigeria’s pharmaceutical sector.
