The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially responded to public concerns regarding the arrest of Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, confirming that he is under investigation following multiple petitions alleging serious financial crimes.
According to the Commission, Otse had refused to honour several invitations sent to him through known addresses and communication channels. The EFCC emphasized that his arrest was not linked to his online criticisms or attacks against the Commission, but strictly based on the weight of allegations brought forward by petitioners.
The Commission confirmed that it obtained a valid remand order and has offered him administrative bail, pending fulfillment of all conditions. EFCC also reiterated its commitment to carrying out its duties without fear or favour and called on the public to allow the Commission to complete its investigations.
