Coalition of Civil Society for Public Service Reforms (CCSPSR) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Fct minister, Nyesome Wike for championing the implementation of the FCT Civil Service Act 2018.
While speaking, the Convener of the Coalition of Civil Society for Public Service Reform Ismail Opeyemi congratulated public servant for embracing the renewed hope opportunity given to them to rise to the peak of their career.
He also assured the organization’s support to the FCT minister and the FCT Administration. “We the family of the FCT civil service are here to pledge our support and also to advice them to shun any form of pressure to relegate merit over ethnic bigotry and bias.
“So we are here today to celebrate everybody that have benefited form this appointment, it is a giant stride and if you know what the public services is all about, you’d know it has put structure to it and if u look at the credentials of the some of the people, it’s very viable credentials, they are seasons technocrats. There’s time for politics and there’s time for governance, and what president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done and the FCT minister has shown to us today is that they are ready to actualized change in the civil service.
“Over time the civil service has grown to the level that people move to become permanent secretaries, head of service and that gives them hope, and is a motivation to every civil servant.
“So we are hear today like I mentioned earlier for three things, to appreciate the president, and also the FCT Minister for championing this project that made the appointee and also to tell them that we are out there watching them, we are here to hold them accountable to the role they have been appointed to do, and to actually advise some of the people that have been saying one thing or the other about this administration. At this point in time we need technocrats to actually mount the leadership of the FCT civil service and management and that’s exactly what we are looking for and as you can see the children of some of the civil servants and there mothers are here for solidarity.
