A Magistrates’ Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Thursday ordered that one Azeez Jimoh, 30, be remanded in a Correctional Centre for alleged armed robbery.
Jimoh, whose residential address was not provided, was charged with conspiracy and armed robbery.
Magistrate I. O Osho did not take the plea of the defendant for want in jurisdiction.
She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
She adjourned the case until July 25 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Foluke Adedosu, told the court that the defendant and others at large committed the offence on April 16, at about 9. 00 p.m, at Gbede area, Ogbomoso, in Oyo State.
She alleged that Jimoh, while armed with cutlasses and knives, robbed one Genesis Ipechi of his motorcycle worth N430,000.
She said the offences contravened Sections 6(b) and 1(2) (a) (b) of the Robbery and Firearms laws of Oyo State, 2004.
