Phrank Shaibu, Atiku Abubakar’s Special Assistant, Public Communication, has a message for Femi Fani-Kayode.He asked Fani-Kayode, the ex-Aviation Minister, to apologise to the former Vice President and the military.The Director of Special Projects and New Media of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council made a coup allegation last week.Fani-Kayode accused Atiku, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and military generals of a secret meeting ahead of the general elections.The All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain was grilled on Monday by the Department of State Services, DSS, and will return to the headquarters on Wednesday for further questioning.Speaking to reporters at the APC national secretariat, the politician admitted he could have made the comment cautiously and would guard subsequent utterancesIn a statement Tuesday night, Shaibu noted that an apology will prove that Fani-Kayode is “truly remorseful of his self-confessed lie”.“Fani-Kayode’s regret is a step in the right direction, but this is not sufficient. Who exactly is he apologising to? He needs to be specific“He needs to apologise to Waziri Atiku Abubakar for trying to impugn his character. He also needs to apologise to the military for denigrating that revered institution.”With more than two million followers across social media platforms, the lawyer ought to understand the implication of libel, Shaibu stressed.Atiku’s aide said apart from the “criminal aspect” of the Twitter post, Fani-Kayode also committed defamation and should apologise for his “inane insinuations”.The former VP’s camp asked the former minister to tender a public apology to Atiku in three newspapers and their online editions “for seven days consecutively beginning from Wednesday.“There should be a fine line between political propaganda and crime. When a person in the calibre of a former minister is unable to differentiate between the two, it becomes worrisome,” the statement added.

NSCDC arrests three for stealing Solar Batteries in Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested three suspects in Gujungu community in Taura LGA of Jigawa State for allegedly stealing solar streetlight batteries.It was alleged that the suspects identified as Umar Adam Abdullahi (18), Kabiru M. Musa (25) and Shafi’u Hamza (25), “connived and stole solar streetlight batteries on Hadejia Road in Gujungu.”The command’s spokesman, Adamu Shehu, said an investigation revealed that there were a total of 130 solar streetlights on the major roads in the town out of which 23 had their batteries stolen.He said;“At the time of their arrest, they were in possession of two Roy 12V/150Ah solar batteries and a charge controller which were neatly removed from the streetlight trunks valued at N320,000.”The suspects confessed to the crime and would be charged in court after the investigation has been concluded.

Hon Adebo Ogundoyin, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, has been left bereaved after losing his mother, Mrs Justina Iyabo Ogundoyin.The news was announced on Sunday evening.Ogundoyin, who recently won his re-election, is currently representing Ibarapa East state constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly.She died at the age of 63.The deceased was the fourth wife of the late Eruwa born philanthropist and business mogul, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin.The speaker’s mother is survived by four children, including the Speaker.The deceased was until her death the Iyaloja General of Ibarapa land.

Doyin Okupe, a former Director General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, has reacted to the conviction of the former Nigerian Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, by a UK Court.DAILY POST had reported that Ekweremadu and his wife alongside Nigerian doctor Obinna Obeta, were found guilty of attempted organ harvesting of a Nigerian trafficked to Britain to provide a kidney for their ailing daughter.Reacting, Okupe, on his Twitter page, prayed that God will intervene and help the family.“My heart this morning goes out to Ekweremadu, his wife and unfortunate family. I cannot act as a judge in this matter.“But I pray that God of the universe who rules over the affairs of men will intervene in this sad development. God, help us in this time of trouble as you promised.”
