Nigerians and all lovers of a secured new Nigeria project have been urged to contribute meaningfully to development of a more robust security architecture through volunteering information to relevant security outfits.
Declaring open the 2025 National Council meeting of the Nigerian Legion in Abuja,Acting National Chairman, Nigerian Legion,retired Major Vincent Abiola says as stakeholders in a virile and peaceful nation,the Nigerian Legion will not shirk in its responsibilities of engendering peace and progress of the nation.
The acting Chairman however called for provision of the necessary wherewithal to enable the Legion meet its statutory obligations in addition to catering for the welfare of widows of fallen heroes who continue to pay the supreme sacrifice in various theatres of war and security challenges.
While thanking the federal government for the landmark pledge of cash donation to the Legion late last year Major Abiola says redemption of the highest ever made pledge since inception of the Nigerian Legion,will go a long way in easing administrative and other logistic needs.
He also called for inclusion of the Nigerian Legion in Budgetary Allocation. On its part he says,and in compliance with an earlier appeal by the Minister of Defence,for the restoration of the Corps of Commissionaires,
Thank the Legion is considering restoration of previously abolished offices of the Commandant-General,Deputy Commandant General and state Commandants as well as re-ranking the affected officers,who would be required to recommit to full compliance with the Nigerian Legion Act and the operational protocols of the Corps of Commissionaires.

airman,retired Major-General AbdulMalik Jibrin for putting the Nigerian Legion on a sound footing until his recent appointment as Secretary,Civil Defence,Correctional,Fire and Immigration Services Board.
