CAS prioritizes well-being of NAF personnel

The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has reiterated his unflinching resolve in prioritizing the well-being of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel.

Air Marshal Abubakar said at the NAF Medical Conference 2025, that a healthy force is a capable force hence he would continue to give it desired attention.

This is contained in a statement by the Deputy Director Public Relations and Information NAF, Group Captain Kabiru Ali. He said the CAS emphasised that ensuring the sound health of personnel of NAF was not just a duty but a fundamental pillar of his vision.

Noting the importance of medical preparedness in achieving operational effectiveness, Abubakar noted that NAF personnel operate in high-risk environments that requires constant physical and mental readiness.

He emphasised that healthcare is a critical component of their work, and under his leadership, the NAF has taken deliberate steps to strengthen its medical capabilities.

He listed efforts so far taken to include providing specialised training for medical personnel in aviation medicine in countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Pakistan, and India.

He noted that the NAF has also established residency programmes in key medical fields, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing the expertise of its medical personnel.

The CAS further said, the NAF has revitalised the 061 Aeromedical Centre and is working to establish a trauma centre at the 465 NAF Hospital in Kano.
These initiatives, according to him aim to provide top-notch medical care to NAF personnel and their families.

He expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support.

He also acknowledged the achievements of the NAF Medical Branch under his leadership, including securing four accreditations for medical training and commissioning a new hospital in Abuja.
