CAC Postpones Implementation of New Service Fees to September 1

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced the postponement of the implementation of its newly introduced service fees and penalties, shifting the effective date from August 1 to September 1, 2025. The decision was made to allow stakeholders and users of the commission’s upgraded online portal more time to adapt to the changes and ensure a smoother transition.

According to the CAC, the new charges include fees for downloading certified documents and penalties for delayed filings and non-compliance with statutory obligations. The commission had earlier scheduled the rollout to begin in August but deferred it following feedback and concerns raised by business operators, legal practitioners, and the general public.

The CAC urged users to take advantage of the grace period to familiarize themselves with the portal and complete any pending filings under the existing fee structure. It reassured stakeholders of its commitment to transparency, digital efficiency, and ease of doing business in Nigeria.
