Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The development, confirmed today, October 15, marks another major defection from the opposition camp.
In a related move, the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and 22 lawmakers have also resigned from the PDP.
Governor Diri’s resignation comes barely 24 hours after Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
