Ahmed Jaha, a member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives representing the Damboa/Gwoza/Chibok federal constituency in Borno State, has raised alarms over Boko Haram’s escalating use of weaponized drones in recent attacks.
Speaking during a parliamentary session, Jaha highlighted that the insurgents are now utilizing armed drones to launch assaults on both military installations and civilian communities, a tactic that has resulted in significant casualties among soldiers and residents.
Jaha emphasized the sophistication of these drone attacks, noting that the insurgents’ technological capabilities have surpassed those of the Nigerian military.
He warned that Boko Haram is regaining strength and could potentially reclaim territories previously liberated by the military.
