The Bloggers and Vloggers, Content Creators Association in Nigeria (BAVCCA), has congratulated newly promoted Assistant Inspector General of Police, Ifeanyi Uche, describing his elevation as a testament to professionalism, competence, and dedication to national service.
In a statement made available to journalists, the association commended the Police Service Commission for what it described as a transparent and merit-driven promotion exercise that saw the elevation of 13 Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General.
According to reports, the promotion followed a rigorous process involving written examinations and oral interviews conducted at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, reinforcing the commitment to meritocracy and excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.
Among those elevated is AIG Ifeanyi Uche, who previously served as Commissioner of Police and Director at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre, and has been widely recognized for his expertise in cybercrime management and strategic policing.
BAVCCA, in its statement, described the promotion as “a clear reward for diligence, integrity, and outstanding contributions to modern policing, particularly in the area of digital security and cyber intelligence.”
The association noted that AIG Uche’s track record in tackling cybercrime and strengthening Nigeria’s digital policing framework has positioned him as one of the most forward-thinking officers in the Force.
“This elevation is not only well deserved but also a reflection of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to recognizing excellence and placing capable hands in positions of greater responsibility,” the statement read.
BAVCCA further expressed confidence that AIG Uche will bring his wealth of experience and leadership capacity to bear in his new role, contributing significantly to strengthening national security and advancing the ongoing reforms within the Police.
The group also urged the newly promoted officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by continuing to uphold professionalism, discipline, and service to the nation.
“The promotion is a call to greater service, and we are confident that AIG Ifeanyi Uche will continue to distinguish himself in the discharge of his duties,” the association added.
The Police Service Commission had earlier described the promotion exercise as a recognition of merit, dedication, and excellence, urging the affected officers to redouble their efforts in safeguarding lives and property across the country.
