Bandaged Air India survivor leads his brother’s funeral procession

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the lone survivor of the Air India crash, was seen walking with a visible limp and wearing bandages as he helped carry the coffin of his brother, Ajay Ramesh, during the funeral in Gujarat.

The emotional moment was captured on Wednesday, marking the first time Vishwash has appeared publicly since being discharged from the hospital .

Vishwash, a 40-year-old British national from Leicester, was released from hospital on June 17 and traveled to Diu, his ancestral home.

There, he mourned alongside family and community members, carrying his brother’s flower-adorned coffin despite still recovering .

Speaking for the first time, Vishwash expressed intense survivor’s guilt, revealing he tried to secure adjacent seats for him and Ajay but couldn’t. He stated: “I feel terrible that I could not save Ajay… I wish I was not alive.”
