ARIWOOLA AWAITS SENATE CONFIRMATION

Nigerian Senate has screened and awaiting the confirmation of Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

The chief justice took over from Mohammed Tanko who resigned from the position after fourteen justices of the Supreme Court charged him of corruption.

Ariwoola was immediately appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari after the resignation of Justice Tanko.

The president had earlier sent a letter to the senate in July 27, 2022 in respect to the confirmation of Justice Ariwoola Olukayode as the nation’s Chief Justice of Nigeria. With the confirmation, Ariwoola will be the eighteenth CJN of the nation since 1956.
