APC National welfare officer reportedly dies in Abuja

Barrister Friday Nwosu, the National Welfare Officer and member of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress, is reportedly dead. A member of the NWC, who spoke in confidence, confirmed his death to The Nation. The lawyer was said to have died on Thursday, March 9, 2023, in an Abuja Hospital after a brief illness. It was gathered that Nwosu, who was discharged on Wednesday from the same hospital for an undisclosed ailment, went back on Thursday for a routine check-up before he passed on. The former Abia governorship candidate under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was elected to the ruling APC NWC at the June 2022 National Convention of the party. “It is true that we lost FN early hours of the day. He died in the hospital after being discharged yesterday (Wednesday) only for him to go for a check-up and he died in the hospital,” the source simply said. “The National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and other members of the NWC are yet to be informed.”
