Al Nassr hit with FIFA transfer ban over unpaid Laporte fee

FIFA has placed a ban on Al Nassr from registering new players after the Saudi club failed to pay an outstanding installment for the signing of Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City. The unpaid amount is reported to be around €9 million, which was due on August 31.

The sanction means Al Nassr cannot add new players to their squad until the debt is fully settled. FIFA rules allow such bans to be imposed in cases of financial default between clubs, especially when agreed transfer payments are not honoured within the stipulated timeframe.

According to reports, the ban will be lifted immediately once Al Nassr clears the outstanding balance. The situation adds pressure on the club’s management as they seek to reinforce the squad, with resolution now hinging solely on payment compliance.
