Air Peace has denied receiving any official communication from the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) regarding reports that one of its pilots tested positive for alcohol after a July 13, 2025 incident in Port Harcourt.
The airline stressed its commitment to safety and transparency, saying it enforces a stricter alcohol and drug policy than industry regulations.
The airline clarified that the captain involved has remained grounded for procedural lapses, not alcohol use, while the co-pilot has since been reinstated after clearance from the NCAA. Air Peace added that it will intensify crew testing, fitness-for-duty checks, and internal monitoring to prevent any breach of its zero-tolerance safety policy.
