Agba moves closer to APC EDO guber ticket as 300 staunch party faithful endorse his nomination form

A leading governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, on Wednesday, inched closer to the ticket of the party for the scheduled September 21, 2024 governorship poll.

To enable his qualification, his nomination form was endorsed by 300 card-carrying members of the party.

The party has stated its preference for direct primary election to enabĺe the vast majority of party members to vote their preferred aspirants.

Agba, who was the first to pick the expression of interest and nomination forms, penultimate Wednesday was also the first to submit the completed first on Wednesday, January 31.

300 card-carrying nembers have signed the form in line with the provisions of the party’s constitution and other regulations.

National Organising Secretary of the party, Abubakar Argungu, who received the completed forms alluded to the fact that Agba was the first to procure the form and the first to submit the same.

He said Agba was serious and determined in his bid to take a shot at the ticket of the party.

Agba, who was accompanied by his wife, Princess Catherine, and party leaders including a former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney general of the State, Barrister Henry Idahagbon and forner Commissioner of Works, Mr Frank Evwuobham, said at a press conference on the premises of the party that he had set out on a voyage of service to humanity.

He said he would like to be remembered for the massive development and empathy he would bring to governance if elected governor.

Agba reeled out his stewardship as minister of state for budget and national planning, around the production of the National Development Plan 2021 -2025 and the long-term perspective plan, christened Agenda 2050, the achievement of January to December budget calendar and the development of monitoring and evaluation APP’ the “Eyemark.ng” – which uses geo-spatial technology to track locations and description of projects, among others.

He said that having atteacted over 70 projects to Edo State as minister of state, he hoped to do much more as executive governor of the state.
