Nollywood star Adunni Ade has secured a major legal victory after a Lagos High Court awarded her ₦20 million in damages for defamation and invasion of privacy.
The case followed a false publication by a blogger alleging a romantic link between the actress and Senator Dino Melaye. The court found the claims to be misleading and injurious to her reputation.
Justice ruled that the publication violated Adunni Ade’s constitutional right to privacy under Section 37 of the 1999 Constitution and the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023, affirming the unlawfulness of the blogger’s actions.
