ADC presidential candidate unveils running mate

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress for the 2023 election, Dumebi Kachikwu, on Wednesday, announced Ahmed Buhari as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.

Buhari was the presidential candidate of the Sustainable National Party of Nigeria in the 2019 election.

While unveiling his running mate in Abuja, Kachikwu, CEO of Roots TV, slammed the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for the state of insecurity in Nigeria, saying he has abandoned his duty.

The ADC presidential candidate who called for President Buhari’s resignation described the All Progressives Congress-led regime as deceptive.

“The ADC has come to rescue Nigeria, take it out of its present security and economic woes,” he assured Nigerians.

Kachikwu promised that under ADC, the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities would be a thing of the past.

Speaking on security, he said to tackle the challenges in the country, he would recruit more personnel into the military.

Kachikwu said, “While terrorists are recruiting, the military is not. If we must defeat the terrorists, we need massive recruitment into the military.”

The ADC VP candidate explained that his acceptance to team up with Dumebi Kachikwu and the ADC was borne out of his desire to effect positive change in Nigeria.

“Many presidential candidates and their running mates have only focused on talking about the Nigerian problem, we are all familiar with, while some have decided to publicly attack and assassinate the character of other candidates.

“It is solutions that will get us out of this mess that has been created out of negligence, laziness, self-centeredness, self-denial and arrogance.

“Dumebi and I have, together with well-meaning Nigerians, built a blueprint that has been designed to bring back the lost glory of our dear nation and put smiles on the faces of the Nigerian people,” he said.

According to him, for as long as responsibility is not transferred from one generation to the other, at the right time, a vacuum will be created.

To tackle insecurity, the ADC vice presidential candidate said all that was required to solve it is political will. He assured that they will do everything possible to end insecurity.
