The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Aircraft ATR-42 crashed on Monday , October 5, 2026 in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State, NAF spokesperson has said.
The aircraft was reportedly on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos.
Consequently, NAF has activated an immediate search-and-rescue operation following the aircraft accident involving an ATR-42 .
According to NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, search-and-rescue efforts are currently underway in coordination with relevant authorities and emergency response agencies.
The number of personnel on board the air craft was not disclosed. The Air Force said it was committed to ensuring the success of the ongoing operation, adding that further details would be released as they become available.
