PUMA Condemns Boko Haram’s Killing of General Braimah

The Peace and Unity Media Advocacy (PUMA) has condemned the brutal killing of General Oseni Omoh Braimah of the Nigerian Army by Boko Haram terrorists in Benisheik, Borno State.

The group’s Executive Director, Comrade Salihu Othman Isah made this condemnation in a statement issued from Kano, Nigeria on Monday.

Isah who explained that the late General Oseni Braimah was an Officer and a gentleman said he had been a reliable and committed soldier of the Nigerian Army who approached any assignment entrusted to him very diligently and with passion.

He condemned his killing by the Boko Haram terrorists act as cowardly and barbaric, while demanding justice for the fallen hero.

This is contained in a statement signed by PUMA executive director who is a former Special Adviser to ex-Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

PUMA expressed its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of General Braimah as well as the Nation who he served with his last breathe.

“The late General Oseni Omoh Braimah has been a reliable and committed officer and a gentleman who served as an inspiration to other officers and subordinates under his watch.

“And it with heavy heart that we admit that it is in this commitment to his duties and loyalty to the nation that he laid down his life. He and some of his men had bravely confronted the cowardly terrorists before he and some of his officers sadly succumbed to fate.

“He was very committed in his line of duty and died gallantly in the process while protecting his beloved country.

He will be long remembered as one of Nigeria’s hero in uniform, gallant and steadfast and who stood tall, as he truly is in his physical frame while defending the nation.”

The group therefore advocates that names and photographs of gallant but fallen heroes like General Braimah and his troops should adorn the Nigerian Army Hall of Fame.

It opined that this will further inspire serving officers to be committed in the protection of the sovereignty of the nation at all given time.

In addition, the families of General Braimah and other fallen heroes in this present deadly terrorist attack and the past victims should be compensated accordingly.

PUMA reveals it stands in solidarity with the Nigerian military and the Federal Government in their fight against terrorism.

“Boko Haram’s actions will not intimidate us,” said PUMA. “We will continue to advocate for peace, unity, and security in Nigeria, and we demand that the government leaves no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.”

The sacrifice of General Braimah and his troops will not be in vain. Their bravery and dedication to the nation will be remembered, and late General Oseni Braimah’s legacy will live on.

PUMA calls on all Nigerians to remain united and vigilant in the face of terrorism, and to support the efforts of the military and the Federal Government to restore peace and security in the country.
