Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, on remand has lost his mother, Hajiya Umma.
Hajiya Imma died on Friday after noon old age related health challenges.

announced Hajiya Umma death on Friday, March 27, 2026.
According to him, Hajiya had been battling age-related health challenges, which had worsened in recent weeks.
Bello added that his grand ma had been actively managing her health before her passing.
Her condition deteriorated further after she learned of her son’s detention by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Recall that Malam Nasiru el-Rufia has been in custody of ICPC since February 18, 2026 following his arrest over investigation of an alleged corrupt practices during his tenure as governor.
He was last week arraigned before the Federal High Court Kaduna and consequently remanded in prison custody till March 31 for his bail application.
The family prayed for Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.
