AANI celebrates Major General Chris Olukolade (Rtd ), mni (SEC 33, 2011), today on his birthday

On behalf of the National Executive Committee and the entire AANI family, the President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), Ambassador Emmanuel Obi Okafor, mni, warmly felicitates with Major General Chris Olukolade (Rtd), mni (SEC 33, 2011) on the occasion of his birthday today, Wednesday, 18th March 2026.

Major General Olukolade (Rtd), mni, is a distinguished retired Nigerian Army officer who served as the Director of Defence Information (DDI), where he was the principal spokesperson for the Nigerian Armed Forces during a critical phase of counter-insurgency operations against Boko Haram. His role in strategic communication during this period significantly shaped public understanding and confidence in military operations.

Since his retirement, he has remained actively engaged in national security discourse and professional engagements. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC), where he provides thought leadership and expert guidance on crisis management and national security issues.

He is also a respected advocate on matters relating to troop morale, the welfare of families of fallen heroes, and the importance of accurate and responsible information dissemination during conflict situations.

The AANI family celebrates his distinguished military career, enduring contributions to national security, and continued service to the nation, and wishes him good health, continued relevance, and many more years of impactful engagement.
