Hope for Nigeria as NFF petitions FIFA over DR Congo’s alleged use of ineligible players

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that it has submitted a formal petition to FIFA against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), accusing the country of fielding ineligible players during the World Cup playoff matches.

Speaking with journalists on Tuesday, NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi alleged that the Congolese Football Association misled FIFA into clearing the players, despite their status allegedly violating DR Congo’s citizenship laws.

The NFF says the petition is part of efforts to ensure fairness and strict compliance with FIFA regulations.
