…Troops neutralize scores of terrorists
Nigerian Arms Forces said on Thursday that its resolve to defeat diverse threats in nature confronting the country remains unwavering and that is making progress in all the theaters. .
It assured that in collaboration with other security agencies and the populace the ongoing sustained intensive operations on all fronts would lead to freeing the country from terrorists, bandits in the North , separatist agitations and criminality in the South East, piracy and illegal maritime activities in the South South.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General .Michael Onoja who gave the assurance while briefing the media on the operational activities of the military in November 2025 said the operations are yielding the desired results across the various zones..
According to him fighting is ranging on against, “terrorism and insurgency in the North East, banditry and kidnapping in the North West and North Central zones, separatist agitations and criminality in the South East, piracy and illegal maritime activities in the South South, as well as oil theft and vandalism in the Niger Delta.”
He said that in November troops conducted several clearance operations, carried out targeted air and maritime interdictions, and intelligence driven raids aimed at degrading criminal networks, protecting civilians, and restoring stability in affected areas.
The Director said many criminal elements were neutralised or apprehended, while “arms and ammunition have been recovered, hostages rescued, and several enclaves previously occupied by terrorists and bandits have been dismantled.”
In his words:”In the month of November, several terrorists, bandits, extremists and other criminal elements were arrested, scores were neutralised and over 69 of them and their family members surrendered, while 318 kidnapped victims were also rescued.
“Troops foiled oil theft worth Two Hundred and Seventeen Million, Six Hundred and Sixty Four Thousand, Six Hundred and Eighteen Naira (N217,664,618.00) representing quantity 201,700 litres of crude oil and 88,177 litres of AGO, while 16 illegal refining sites were deactivated.”
The director also gave some details of troops operations between 27 November 27 and December 3, 2025, stating that there were serious operations against terrorists in Mafa, Ngala, Ngazai, Konduga, Bama, Askira Uba and Chibok LGAs of Borno State.
Similar operation was conducted in Madagali and Song LGAs of Adamawa State. During these encounters, scores of the terrorists were neutralized. Also, 6 of their collaborators, informants, sympathizers and spies were arrested, while 5 kidnapped victims were rescued. Significant quantities of arms and ammunition, vehicles and motorcycles were also recovered, while their camps were destroyed.”
Same serious fighting operations occurred in Anka, Maradun and Talata Mafara LGAs of Zamfara State, in Wurno and Sabon Birni LGAs of Sokoto State as well as Batsari, Kankara, and Kankiya LGAs of Katsina State. Other areas where operations took place during the week include Shanono and Tsanyawa LGAs of Kano State as well as Birnin Kudu and Jahun LGAs of Jigawa State.
Similarly, troops intensified their operations in Dankon Wasagu, Dandi, Kebbe, Zuru and Bagudu LGAs of Kebbi State. During these operations, several terrorists were neutralised, 13 of them were apprehended, while 9 kidnapped victims were rescued. Weapons, vehicles, livestock and other household items were recovered from them.
