Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has described his engagement with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as successful after honouring the agency’s invitation over alleged corruption during his time in office.
In an update posted on his X handle on Saturday, Malami confirmed he had been released and given a date for further questioning, insisting that the allegations against him were fabricated. He assured Nigerians that the truth would unfold as the investigation progresses and added that honouring the EFCC’s invitation aligned with the values of accountability he upheld while in office.
Malami, who served as AGF between 2015 and 2023, earlier stated that he would fully cooperate with the EFCC, noting that integrity and transparency remain central to his public service record.
