Liverpool’s Nightmare Title Defence Continues

After winning the league and spending over half a billion dollars on transfers this summer, Liverpool’s season has taken a shocking turn. Their campaign has spiralled into one of the poorest starts by a defending champion in Premier League history.

The Reds currently sit 12th, having already conceded 20 goals, slipping into a negative goal difference, and finding themselves 11 points off the top. Even more alarming, they are only seven points above the relegation zone.

With only four defending champions ever performing worse at this stage, Liverpool’s season is officially on red alert — and pressure is mounting fast on the squad and coaching staff.
