Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has alleged that the DR Congo staff performed “voodoo” rituals throughout the penalty shootout that knocked Nigeria out of the World Cup playoff, according to multiple reports.

Chelle claimed someone in the Congo technical area was seen using “something water” to jinx his players during each kick.

The accusation fueled post-match tensions, with Chelle confronting members of the DR Congo bench as soon as the decisive penalty was scored.
