The Former Kaduna State Governor Ahmed Makarfi has resigned as Secretary of the PDP Board of Trustees, citing the emergence of a new National Chairman from his geopolitical zone. He said his departure was necessary to maintain balance in the party’s leadership.
Makarfi revealed that he first attempted to resign two months ago but stayed on at the request of the BoT Chairman. With the new chairman from the North-West, he said stepping aside is the right decision.
He expressed appreciation to BoT members for their support during his tenure and maintained that fairness and regional balance guided his decision.
