Nigeria, UK Renew Commitment To Deepen Strategic Ties

Nigeria and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting mutual development across key sectors.

The renewed commitment followed a meeting between Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in London.

According to a statement by Tuggar’s Media Aide, Alkasim Abdulkadir, discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, security, education, migration, and climate action. Both ministers also exchanged views on regional and global issues, explored new areas of partnership, and highlighted the importance of the Nigerian diaspora in fostering stronger people-to-people connections.

The visit forms part of Nigeria’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to strengthen global partnerships and advance shared prosperity.
