The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has successfully recovered two high-end vehicles stolen in the Netherlands and smuggled into Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Monday, October 20, Force spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin revealed that the vehicles were traced to Lagos and Akwa Ibom States following a coordinated investigation by INTERPOL NCB Abuja.
According to Hundeyin, investigations uncovered that the vehicles were originally stolen from Amsterdam and Midden-Nederland before being shipped through the Port of Antwerp, Belgium, and arriving in Apapa, Lagos, in late 2023.
He further disclosed that after the completion of all legal procedures, the Federal High Court granted a final forfeiture order in favor of the Government of the Netherlands, represented by the vehicles’ insurance company.
