British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua has agreed in principle to face Russian powerhouse Arslanbek Makhmudov in 2026. The potential blockbuster clash could mark one of the most anticipated heavyweight bouts of the decade.
Makhmudov, known as “The Lion,” revealed during an interview with Boxing News that Joshua responded positively after a brief Instagram exchange, hinting at a mutual interest in making the fight happen.
“Yeah, we just spoke a little bit on Instagram,” Makhmudov said. “Just friendly, you know. And I offered him as a next fight, he said, ‘Okay, next year then. Next year we can do it.’”
