Former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, has denied that his resignation from office was driven by guilt, stating that his decision to step down was a matter of principle and integrity, not admission of wrongdoing.
Nnaji resigned on Tuesday, October 7, following public controversy surrounding the authenticity of his academic qualifications.
In a statement, the former minister said his resignation was made “to protect my lifelong reputation and to ensure that due process is followed without distractions.”
He described the allegations as politically motivated blackmail, aimed at tarnishing his image and undermining the work of his ministry under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
