Veteran entertainer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has recounted how former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, surprised him with a courtesy visit and a ‘Ghana Must Go’ bag filled with fruits.
Narrating the incident on his X handle, Charly Boy said Obi called him around 1 am, announcing plans to stop by his home at 5 am. True to his word, the former Anambra governor arrived with a large bag that turned out to contain roasted groundnuts, kolanuts, alligator pepper, bananas, mangoes, oranges, pawpaw, and other fruits personally packed by him.
The entertainer, who described the gesture as a display of “native intelligence,” noted that Obi told him: “Senior, I no fit give you money, but I fit give you this one, na my hand pick.” Charly Boy, a staunch member of the Obidient movement, said the humble act left him amused and deeply touched. ws
